Step-by-Step Registration Process
Step 1: Access Michigan Treasury Online
Visit mto.treasury.michigan.gov to access Michigan’s online tax registration system.
Step 2: Create an Account
Create a Michigan Treasury Online account with your email and password.
Step 3: Complete Form 518
The Registration for Michigan Taxes (Form 518) registers your business for sales tax and other applicable taxes.
Step 4: Receive Your License
Processing takes 7-10 business days. Your Sales Tax License will be mailed and available for download online.
